What Happens Between Your Order and Your Doorstep
When you order from most watch brands, someone picks a sealed box off a shelf and puts a label on it. That is not what happens here, and the difference explains why your watch takes longer to arrive than a pair of shoes.
Your configuration does not exist anywhere until you validate it. Here is what follows.
Day 0 — Your Configuration Becomes an Order
The moment you check out, your exact combination — case, dial, hands, bezel, bracelet, case back, engraving — is recorded as a build sheet. Not a product reference: a list of parts, specific to you. You receive a confirmation email with your configuration attached.
Days 1 to 2 — Parts Are Picked
Every component on your build sheet is pulled and inspected individually before anything is assembled. Dials are checked for dust and printing defects, hands for straightness, crystals for scratches, cases for finishing flaws. Rejecting a part at this stage costs a few minutes. Discovering it after assembly costs the entire watch.
Days 2 to 4 — Hand Assembly
The movement is cased. The dial is fitted, then the hands are set — the most delicate operation of the whole build, done with a hand-held tool under magnification. One millimetre of misalignment on the hour hand is visible to the naked eye for the entire life of the watch.
Then the bezel, the crystal, the case back, the crown, and the bracelet or strap. Every watch is built by one person, from start to finish.
Days 3 to 5 — Regulation and Testing
The assembled watch runs for 48 to 72 hours on the bench while its rate is measured in several positions and adjusted. An automatic movement does not run at the same speed flat on its back and standing on its crown — regulation is what brings those positions closer together.
In parallel: water resistance test, crown and pusher operation, date change at midnight, power reserve. A watch that fails one of these goes back to the bench rather than into a box.
Before Shipping — Your Photo
If your build includes a custom dial logo or a case back engraving, you receive a photo of your finished watch before it is sealed. You approve it, and only then does it ship. This started as a courtesy on a single order and became standard practice, because personalised details are exactly where you want to check before the box closes.
Packing and Departure
Your watch is packed in its Chrono Mod box with its two-year warranty card, then handed to the carrier with tracking. Shipping is free worldwide, and duties and taxes are prepaid — whatever your country, there is nothing to pay on delivery and no customs paperwork on your side.
How Long the Whole Thing Takes
Assembly and testing take three to five working days. Delivery then depends on where you are: the exact window for your country is displayed in your cart before you pay, and again in your confirmation email. We would rather show you a real number than a flattering one.
